About Us - NEO Teen Hotline

NEO Teen Helpline, Inc. was established in 1990 as a program of CONTACT Ashtabula County, Inc., the local crisis hotline. The first training class started in February 1990 and the first phone call was received in June 1990. NEO Teen Helpline, Inc. was spun off from CONTACT Ashtabula County as an independent not for profit corporation in February 1996. A Board of Trustees governs us.

Since then there has been over 25,000 telephone calls placed to our 800 number, 800.272.8336. Originally our service area was restricted to Ohio and Pennsylvania. In 1998 our service area was expanded to include all of the U.S. and Canada.

The Executive Director is Mr. Peter D. Kovalesky. He may be contacted at director@neoteenhelp.org. Teen and adult volunteers are trained to listen and respond to teen's problems non-judgmentally.

All calls are confidential, within legal and ethical standards, and free. Teens can call and talk about subjects like: family life, grief and loss, suicide, abuse, drugs and alcohol, sex and other problems. When possible, referrals will be made to local social service agencies. We have a database of many social services available in the U.S.
